Three new performers arrive on stage each night with no idea what awaits them. Guided by Linda’s instructions and bathed in Gustav’s improvised sound, A Study of Choices unfolds in real time with performers and audiences in on the experiment together. Each performer brings their own interpretation to the same set of instructions, creating a work that transforms from one show to the next. With uncertainty as its point of departure and new performers every night, no two performances are the same. Engage in a real-time study of choices, conceived by this visionary Swedish duo and brought to life by electrifying local artists.

The duo Wardal/Lejelind have collaborated for the past five years. In addition to A Study of Choices, they have created works such as Thoughts on Being a Lamp and SPORT. Their latest production, SPORT is a collaboration with dancer and choreographer Lovisa Mattisson. The performance takes place inside both fictional and non-fictional sports bars, examining the interplay between dance, sport and ritual. The work portrays sport as a physical practice where tenderness and aggression can coexist -both on and off the sports field.

Linda Wardal is a choreographer, dancer, writer, and dance teacher from Sweden. She holds a master’s degree in choreography from Stockholm University of the Arts and a bachelor’s degree in dance pedagogy. Over the past fourteen years, she has created twenty dance works. Her artistic practice centers on the relationship between performer and audience, and on continuously exploring how this encounter can be deepened, shifted, and reimagined. In 2024, Linda was selected for the ATLAS program at Impulstanz, where she created the work The Emerging Artist, – a solo exploring how to become a rock star . Linda granted a residency at Uferstudios in Berlin for 2025 and is currently working on establishing a new performance festival in Sweden for 2026.
Gustav Lejelind is a sound artist and musician. He works with performance, stage productions, and sound installations, focusing on questions related to identity, group belonging, and the choices people make and how these choices shape their surroundings. Among other works, he created the performance A Study of Choices, a collaboration with choreographer Linda Wardal — an exploration of decision-making and the factors that influence our choices. The piece has been performed at 3:e Våningen in Gothenburg, Ö2 in Stockholm, Kolgruvan in Gothenburg, and at Tjárnabíó in Reykjavik. Lejelind has also created the exhibition Sound~Wave~Water together with Anna Liljedal at the Maritime Museum in Gothenburg — a multichannel sound installation based on underwater field recordings and a continuation of their performance VATTEN, which was presented at Atalante in 2021 in Gothenburg.
